Project Runway Episode 2
It’s Thursday! One day closer to the weekend and another brilliant episode of Project Runway! Let’s jump right in shall we?
So the episode begins with our elite 16 designers starting off their day blah, blah. Then we get to the challenge.
Joanna Coles Editor and Chief of Marie Claire Magazine presents the challenge, they have to design an outfit that describes who the Marie Claire woman is. The winner gets their design featured on a billboard in Times Square which is going to be 40 feet tall (nice) and the picture will be taken by a Victoria Secret photographer (his name escapes me) it’s a 1 day challenge and their budget is $150.00. At Mood it’s chaos as usual Casanova hits Peach in the head with a roll of material (see? So not charming).
During the designing, Gretchen our last challenge winner decides to think outside of the box and make pants, which apparently she hasn’t done before? Peach thought she had the wrong fabric choice polka dots (eek), Casanova was asking for help from AJ major dork I am telling you! Tim comes in the inspect the designers process I took a few notes from Tim said:
Valerie- He thought her dress looked cheap (I begged to differ cool concept) she was going with a trench coat dress.
Mondo- had no sketch all in his head = bad
Jason- His design worried Tim major ??? moment. He went for a number 8 look for season 8 of the show (major suck up right?) and for infinity. Jason said he was a straight guy in gay man’s world to cut him some slack.
Casanova- His design again baffling then he pretended like he didn’t understand what Tim was saying even he speaks decent English. *eyeroll*
Michael #2- Looked very Blanche from the Golden Girls (come on Tim! She just passed away!)
Nicholas- the back opening of his outfit reflected what Gretchen did on her last design she was kind of pissed he was stealing it. However no fight broke out dang it.
Peach- I really feel for this lady, it’s oblivious she’s talented otherwise she wouldn’t be there she had to start over and ended up with three designs.
As usual good old Tim brings another element in, the designers and the models get to do a photo of their finished product to get an idea of what the billboard picture will look like. Plus would be used for the juding.
Meanwhile Casanova is asking for advice yet again this time for Gretchen and she goes he is so annoying but so charming WHAT? If she says so, it was funny she told Casanova that they were bosom buddies and her trying to explain this to him that’s easy have watch him Anne of Green Gables. Enough said.
During the photo shoot again the designs were from cute to creepy. Jason? Well Jason didn’t finish so he had to use safety pins, um I didn’t know that said Marie Claire. Last time I checked safety pins said punk and 1980’s but whatevs.
Runway time. Heidi informs no one gets immunity this challenge. The judges again are Michael Kors, Nina Garcia, and guest judge Joanna Coles (surprised? Me neither).
I was impressed with Andy’s outfit his model wore flowing pants then her top the sleeves pulled down so it was like a tank (sort of) then to a t-shirt it’s the best way to describe it, Gretchen made the pant suit rock, Michael #1 thought his dress was too short but it was funky, and I can’t believe I am saying this but Casanova rocked it. I was shocked compared to last week? Kudos Casanova! I had to laugh though the judges many a times had a “throw up” look on their faces like the were to toss their cookies at any even second.
The ones who were called to stay out for juding were: Peach, Nicholas, Mondo, Jason, Gretchen, Valerie. Ones that were in are Ivy, Casanova (I know right?), Sarah, AJ, both Michaels, April (who a bit extra confident to me), Christopher (which shocked me his dressed looked like a short bus), Andy, and Kristin.
The judges weren’t very nice to Peach, Nicholas or Jason. Peach had a like a step-ford wives dress polka dotted, with a weird brown ruffle down the back that looked like an animal attacked it basically. Nicholas was way too busy, and Jason well can you guess? They were so not amused with the safety pins and in the picture you could see a peak a boo hole ouch.
Mondo was in, and then it was down to Gretchen and Valerie. Gretchen won it again totally surprising I really thought Valerie had it. A bar has already been set. Peach was in too barely.
So that left Jason was out (figures) he just left Tim didn’t even get a goodbye in and Nicholas yeah two were let go Nicholas cried. Sucks but that’s how it goes one day your in the next your out.
14 now remain next week drama begins with one of the Michael #2 (the old lady dress one) and Gretchen get into he wasn’t happy she won again and they go to a party shop for their next design finally! Last season it was a hardware store! Now it’s getting good!!!
