Sunday Thoughts: We're STILL in a pandemic
Some people have thought that the pandemic is over. Unfortunately that's not the case. We're at 19,452 cases (as of today), with 282 deaths. The good news is that 11,980 have recovered. In my county we've had 687 cases and 8 deaths. Note: This is in my state
We had a big surge when things started to reopen back in May. A lot of states have had another surge in Florida, Texas, Arizona and California so much so that places are re-closing again, lock downs are being extended further the list goes on.
Being an essential worker has taught me a valuable lesson during this time the importance of PPE, washing hands, and wearing a mask in public. I get it the weather is hot and uncomfortable especially here in Nebraska but at the same time it's preventing the spread of germs. I have seen SO MANY people NOT wearing masks at stores, etc.
We got to do better or this will never go away!
Remember to:
*Wash your hands
*Stay home if you're sick
*Get tested even if you don't have symptoms (I am getting mine in a week)
*Wear masks in public even if it's not required
*Social distant when you can
Remember we're in this together!!
